Portsmouth Water ups value of tender for catchment restoration project to £7m+ and extends deadline for EOIs to 25 November 2024

Portsmouth Water has increased the value of of an upcoming tender for a catchment restoration project from £4.1 million to £7.295 million and extended the deadline for submitting Expressions of Interest (EOIs) to 25November 2024.

The water company first published a Periodic Indicative Notice entitled Watercourse Restoration and Improvements in September seeking interest from contractors to restore and improve existing watercourses affected by the new Havant Thicket Reservoir project with a deadline of 18th October.

The utility was seeking EOIs for the following watercourse restoration and improvement works in 2 Lots on reaches over 300 metres and below 300 metres respectively for the following activities:

  • removal of concrete bed and banks
  • replacement of headwalls
  • reprofiling bed and banks
  • redistribution of bed material
  • erosion protection measures
  • new channel creation and backwater features
  • removal of trees and coppicing
  • replanting (environmental work)
  • addition of wood into channels
  • pond creation
  • localised bank excavation and reprofiling
  • flood plain excavation
  • removal of existing bank protection

 

Portsmouth Water has now issued an updated notice entitled Hermitage Stream Catchment Restoration Project inviting contractors to submit Expression of Interest by 25th November 2024. The estimated date of publication of the formal contract notice has been revised to 30 June 2025.
